From the book U2 By U2:
'A Man And A Woman' was about rediscovering a kind of flirtatious and romantic love, when you were younger and less sure-footed in the ways that love can take you. It's that dance around the subject, seduction, that beautiful flirtation, which is in the end the most sexual thing, the not knowing, the not going there. Men and women seem to want to trample that mysterious distance that lies between us. I'm intrigued by it, it keeps me interested.
Thanks to "beautiful day" at U2.se's forum for sending me the quote.
